Print and Paint
Jill Woodward
Jill is a Printmaker, working in her newly converted studio facing the Preseli Hills in Pembrokeshire. She has spent most of her working life as primary school teacher with her most recent works still showing a strong link to the classroom. Working alongside children, collaboratively and modeling techniques to a class often leaves pieces half finished or half started, which still inform her pieces today. Jill grapples to achieve the spontaneity and inventiveness of which young children are capable, mostly using etching and carborundum to explore mark making, texture and colour to produce abstract prints.

Jessie Woodward
Jessie’s instinctive way of working explores the language of paint and mark making to evoke emotions in the viewer, aiming to communicate how pure abstract work can generate visual energetic joy and pleasure.
The way Jessie experiments with materials, a vibrant colour palette and juxtaposing textures is key to making each piece vividly unique. She looks at the dynamics created when colours, marks, textures and ratios are set with and against each other to create a cohesive piece.
